Uncommon Stone Designs
design, development, project management, training
I love Michelle’s designs! We worked together to create a site where she could showcase her wares to potential retailers of her fabulous travertine tiles. This site is a great example of a complementary Etsy site. Stop by her store and browse!
Susan Childers
design, development, project management, training
Susan has a very classic style and is a complete professional. She and I worked together to create a site to reflect this polish, and yet still let her warmth shine through. We were both very happy with the results!
Bellflower Textiles
design, development, project management, training
Megan, the proprieter of Bellflower Textiles, is not only a great fabric artist, she’s also a techie in her own right! So she was more than willing to have me code a PHP site and just delve right into the markup to make updates. I talked her into getting a WordPress site instead so she could reap the benefits of the dynamic WordPress development community. We made sure that she is setup with RSS plus I found an enewsletter service (SendLoop) to fit her needs. Megan was up and running in no time.
eBooks by JD
design, development, project management, training
J.D. approached me after a workshop and said that she had this idea to sell stories online. She didn’t know if it was possible to do so within her budget. It was. She was deeply involved in the design process and had no qualms about learning eJunkie (the 3rd party tool she is currently using to manage her sales). I helped J.D. assess her options on all fronts and we made sure that she has a site that will allow her to grow.
Eagle Eyes Editing
design, development, project management, training
I will admit that this was a very distracting site to work on. Michelle (founder of Eagle Eyes Editing) writes travel copy. And not just any travel copy. She writes about luxury cruises and five-star resorts. So check out her site and and see all of the great work that we did. And dream of a mediterranean cruise. We set her up with a WordPress site she can update herself, including a nice frontpage slideshow and random quote generator so she can share all the nice things her clients are saying about her work!
Robin Adler, MSW, LISCW
design, development, project management, training
Robin needed a site that reflected her personal style as well as her professional style and excellent credentials. We also needed to ensure that this would be a site that Robin could update herself with no knowledge of HTML. WordPress to the rescue. I built this site on time and within budget. And had a great time doing it. And more importantly, Robin is now happy to be able to send colleagues and potential clients to a professional site.
Washington State Society for Clinical Social Workers
redesign, development, project management, ongoing support
What began as a simple “site facelift” turned into an opportunity to re-architect and recode the site. The former site had been developed by a volunteer in Frontpage using nested tables and spacer gifs. Content updates to the site were challenging and took longer to accomplish, thereby costing the client more money. Using CSS, a Milonic menu javascript solution, and suggestions from the WSSCSW print designer, I redesigned and developed the site providing cleaner code and a cleaner design. The site was built in PHP in order to easily allow for possible future functionality such as a private member area.
Designed and built member database and administrator’s management tool using MYSQL and PHP. Admin tool allows member administrator to create, edit, delete member records as well as run reports and download .csv files.
Mills Communications Group
development
Built in php, this site is a great example of fully table-less CSS driven presentation. I also trained the client in how to update the site. This was a great project, working with both an involved client and an excellent design group.
Laura Groshong
development, project management
Laura contacted me after purchasing the GoDaddy “Website Tonight” tool. I assisted her in customizing templates, creating site architecture, building pages, and training her on the tool. I also implemented the GoDaddy shopping cart tool for Laura.
Elissa’s Web site
design, development, project management
The owner of this site needed a personal site to share information about her daughter’s short life. It was important that she be able to update the information herself. I designed the site using HTML and CSS, then built the templates using the Moveable Type platform.
Susan E. Cohen
development, project management
This was a very rewarding and collaborative effort. Susan needed a brochure-ware site to get information to her clients. I educated Susan on the basics of websites (hosting, domain names, etc) and helped her build and launch a Web presence from beginning to end. With the designer’s permission, Susan and I kept costs down by building her site using her business card design along with an Open Source template. I configured her new email and trained her in using it. I also provided technical site documentation so she could either contact me or anyone else with front-end coding knowledge to update her site in the future.
