Eagle Eyes Editing is launched! I will admit that this was a very distracting site to work on. Michelle (founder of Eagle Eyes Editing) writes travel copy. And not just any travel copy. I’m happy to announce the launch of Robin Adler’s site! We launched on time and within our budget. Robin put a lot of thought into this site and wrote some great content that Jakob Nielson would be proud of.

This was a very fun project and I’m proud of the results of the Kate/Robin team.

PDF files always look pretty. Everybody can view and print them. Etc etc. You know all the great reasons to “pdf a file” before posting it online or sending it out via email. So if you’ve been sending your final docs over to your graphic designer because she’s the ONLY one you know who has Adobe Acrobat, you can stop doing that. Download Primo PDF for free. It’s very easy to install and use. No, it’s not going to replace Acrobat or your designer’s, well, sense of design. But if you need a quick PDF, it’s a great way to go.

Online Invoicing

I have a friend (you know who you are!) who sends her invoices via email as an MS Word document. She tracks the day she sent it and how much the invoice was for in an MS Excel spreadsheet. She remembers to go back to that Excel spreadsheet and update it and resend invoices when necessary.

I would want to go back and update that spreadsheet. I really would. But I get easily distracted by current work projects, my daughter, and my geriatric beagle-mutt. So I use Blinksale instead.

I’ve been using this online invoicing service for three years now and it’s simple and easy and I love it during tax time. (How much did I invoice for last year? Really? Hmm. Wonder where that revenue went…) You can send a single invoice or recurring invoices. Charge by the hour or flat service fee. Whatever you want. You can customize your email invoice template, too.

Oh, and it’s free if you send no more than 3 invoices per month. The next pricing tier is $12 per month for up to 50 invoices per month.

In any case, if you are a small business, contractor or sole proprieter, definitely check these folks out. I like them a lot.
